CAPEA members come from a diverse range of backgrounds across Australia, including but not limited to: midwives, child and family health nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, independent educators, doulas, social workers, psychologists, yoga, calmbirth® and hypnobirth practitioners and general practitioners.
Membership of CAPEA provides opportunities for networking and exchanging ideas and experiences between colleagues. CAPEA offers information and resources to support the beginner as well as experienced educators, including access to workshops, seminars and conferences.
Any individual who is a Childbirth and/or Parenting Educator, or has a distinct interest in Childbirth and Parenting Education, may become a Member of the Association. Membership provides you with full voting rights and the potential to hold a position on a CAPEA Branch or National Committee.

As a not-for-profit, voluntary, professional organisation member fees go toward supporting parenting and childbirth educators to provide high-quality, accessible and responsive education to women and their families during pregnancy and early parenthood. This objective is achieved through a variety of forms from educational events to promotion of quality standards and evidence-based research.
