We are a voluntary, professional association supporting Australian Childbirth and Parenting Educators from diverse backgrounds as they strive to provide high quality, accessible and responsive education to women and their families during pregnancy and early parenthood.

Our members are from a diverse range of backgrounds across Australia, including but not limited to: midwives, child and family health nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, independent educators, doulas, social workers, psychologists, yoga, calmbirth® and hypnobirth practitioners and general practitioners.

Your CAPEA Membership Benefits

CAPEA offers professional status and training, networking and support for beginner as well as experienced Childbirth and Parenting Educators, webinars, competency standards and the International Journal of Birth and Parenting (IJBP) as part of its membership. CAPEA’s Facebook posts link research articles specifically for educators and has a monthly newsletter full of tips and is a way to connect with others in this field.

You can log into the membership portal with your email address and the password you chose when you signed up.

You can update your password in the My Account section of the website. If you do not remember your password, you can reset your password through the forgot password page.

Yes, you can edit your details in the My Account section of the website.

You can free webinars in the members section of the website. For special events, you will be provided instructions on how to register for your free webinar access.

As part of your CAPEA membership you will be eligible for membership discounts. Instructions on how to claim your discounts will be listed on applicable conferences and events.

Yes, you will receive reminder emails about your membership when you become due for renewal. You do not need to wait for your membership to expire, if you renew before expiry the extra time will be added to your membership.

Yes, we have organisation memberships available. Please see joining and renewing membership page for details.
